Getting Things Done – Projects: Natural Planning

So you have your 30,000 foot list of projects per Getting Things Done and now it’s time to break it down. While I think there has to be better terminology than “natural planning model,” I’m willing to give it a shot.

According to the method, individual projects can be broken down into the following steps:
1. Define the purpose and parameters
2. Outcome visioning – what does “wild success” feel like?
3. Brainstorming
4. Organizing and sorting your ideas – establishing a detailed project plan/structure/schedule
5. Identifying next actions/steps and capturing in order; activate by integrating each item into daily to do list

Sounds like a lot – I’ll start with the looming tax return project (which is a big undertaking this year with the move and F’s travel expenses) and post my progress.

Cheers!
